hold the line on higher taxes...

It is time to stand up and be counted and stop letting the left wing tax you out of your home and waste your money on functions which were never contemplated to be a responsibility of county government.  It is time for open and honest government and time to make developers pay the real cost of development instead of laying those costs off on the public.

620 Acres in Hillville to be Zoned Industrial and the County Commissioners Did Not Hold Public Hearings for Folks that will be affected.

By Rich Johnson, on Jan 27, 2010

Now last night I attended a Public Forum at the Chesapeake Building with the County Commissioners.  The Hot Topic was the "Under the Radar" vote to rezone 620 acres in Hillville from Rural Preservation District to Industrial use.  Only Commissioner Larry Jarboe voted against it.  There were no Public Forums for the folks that live around there to hear their voice.  The owner of the property is a Paul Facchina.  Do a quick google and connect the dots.  I was told there was a secret meeting in La Plata on this property deal.  Oh yea, Facchina Construction ha

Do you believe

Do you believe the the commissioners are going to spend $10,000,000 less in the upcoming  budget?  Why didn't they spend $10,000,000 less in last years budget?  If the other four commissioners had listened to Larry Jarboe and adopted constant yield it would have saved the tax payers $6,000,000.  Do you think if it were not an election year, the other four commissioners would make a press release reporting they were not going to spend as much this year?

By Rich Johnson, on Mar 2, 2010

Tonight I attended the Public Forum for the Mill Cove Community and how some developers want to force through “High Density” housing, right in the Critical Area.  All the Town Hall Alliance guys support your issue.  It is a “Quality of Life” issue and how this development will change the Character of your community.  This is no different than the Hillville area re-zoning of 620 acres to Industrial without the neighbors being told about it.  Tonight the Developer was there in force along with a Lawyer, and other Builders and trade folks.  I agree with them that these

Corrupt Rezone

By Dan Morris, on Feb 27, 2010

It is well known that rezoning property for no apparent reason is done for one purpose and only one purpose, to put money into the pockets of one or two people.  Industrial property is worth a lot more money than rural zoned property.  I urge everyone in the Hillville  to ask the County commissioners these questions, first and most important what is the intentions for this rezone on 620 acres. Who wants to build and what do they want to build. Second ask the question who are the all of the interested parties involved.
